We have installed Honeywell NStar software package on several sites using NS2 panels. Software runs great on stand alone PCs that are not on a LAN. On PCs that are on our State network the SQL server program seems to become corrupted over time (usually a few months). Has anyone experienced this and figured out exactly what is the cause? They normally have a P4 1.66Ghz processor with 256Mb or 512Mb ram. OS is Win XP SP2 and the Nstar build is 19 although we recently upgraded a build 19 to the new build 45 to try and correct this problem.
However we do not know if this is a long term fix. We have contacted HAS in the past and it seems that something occurred on the PC and the Nstar program could not access it's database. HAS seemed to be aware of the type of problem and always recommended a rigorous uninstall followed by a re-install.
The then advised to remove the computer from the network. All computers on the network have the same image installed and we thought there was something in this image that was causing a conflict. Thought someone out there may have experienced the same problem. All systems on computers not connected to the LAN/WAN without this image work fine. We will contact HAS again as soon as we can get to a problem site to try and work this out.
